At Bikeskills it Starts with People

At Bikeskills it’s always been about people. To deliver on the promise of helping you become a better cyclist, a safer cyclist, and to get there faster than any other method, we need to find, and recruit, the very best people.
This doesn’t just mean having an instructional staff that includes world champions like Leigh Donovan or experienced professional sports instructors like PSIA ski instructor Jackie Baker, but electing people like Dr. Allison Harvey and others on our Bikeskills Advisory Board to help us craft and refine our programs.
In 2009 Bikeskills added new locations and instructors in Utah, California’s Central Valley, and Oregon. Look for additional locations in 2010… quite possibly Bikeskills first outside the United States!

Bikeskills Focus on Female Programs Return in 2009!
One of the most exciting events in 2009 for Bikeskills was the resumption of our women’s specific “Focus on Female” program. In 2009 we assembled a strong team of professional instructors that includes world champion Leigh Donovan, multi-sport professional instructor Jackie Baker, national champion (and UC CAl PhD candidate) Maureen Kunz, and CAL cycling coach Emma Worldpeace.

Greg Watts Stretches His Legs in Santa Cruz California at the Aptos Post Office Jumps
It’s been quite a while since Bikeskills has had a world-class dirt jumper on our team. And whether you’re looking for instruction in one of mountain biking’s most exciting but challenging disciplines, or simply love to watch those jumpers do their thing, you’ll be happy that Greg is part of team Bikeskills. And if you want to see him in “Bikeskills Action” check out this informercial we did for Sanyo:

World Renowned Photographer, Walt Denson Joins Bikeskills to Help YOU “Get the Shot!”
Where do you start when it comes to what Walt can and has done with his camera? One place is taking a look at Walt’s Galleries. No matter how many times we look at Walt’s work over the years, Surfskills’ Chuck Patterson summed it up best when he said “Walt makes magic” after he saw the shot below of himself at one of the newly discovered, off-shore, “slab waves”, Calfornia’s Shark Park.

But the reason Walt joined Bikeskills is YOU! We know that so many action sports participants not only have cameras, but would love to bring home images from their ride, surf session, epic ski day, etc. And with the help of Walt, Bikeskills will be bringing you short, to-the-point, articles to help you Get The Shot. Articles on taking panoramas, images that convey speed, or even how to take a not-so-good image and turn it in to an interesting art piece. Stay tuned for more Getting the Shot installments!
