John:

Northstar has their link up that we’ll be posting tomorrow. The actual “registration link” may or may not work until 9 sep. But check it out here: http://www.northstarattahoe.com/info/calendar/calendarevent.bikeskills_clinics.item.asp#reg

Thanks!

Hi, thanks, I also so the info on N* website. Just to clarify further about the Jump/Park clinic, is the $99 package a 2-day class, or is it the same one-day class offered twice at $99 each day?

Hiroshi:

Sounds like we need to clarify things on the N* site. There are two, one-day clinics. One Friday and another the following day. Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks. We look forward to seeing you there.

Just curious… For the Jump/Park, what’s the target audience skill level? Also, I heard N* has a “DJ” area (not interested), but not sure about a “Slope Style” area (interested) to learn all that; hence my asking, please. I’ve already signed up, but – with 4hr-drive each way – I’d like to be sure… Thanks!

Hiroshi:

The target skill level for the bike park clinic are intermediate mountain biking skills with some familiarity with what goes on in a bike park. Certainly some fundamental jumping skills will be helpful, but not essential. And yes, the focus will be on N*’s Livewire run that combines table top jumps (that can be rolled) rollers, berms, etc.

Thanks

Hi Guys,
Interested in what type of skills the advanced downhill class is targetting – I am travelling over from Australia and am a capable rider however not competition level. Too good an opportunity to pass up a skills clinic such as this, I have booked Downieville for Saturday, but I might change this if need be.

I hope you can make it. They’ll be enough instructors to ensure you are looked after personally. This really is an extraordinary collection of the very best riders on the planet. And besides, with you there, were guaranteed to have folks from Aus, South Africa, the UK, France and the US. Talk about International!

Thanks.

Thanks mate.

Having not been to Northstar before, are you able to provide me a little more info on what type of terrain I can expect, and what I can expect out of the advanced session. Do you know what trails we will ride?

Im not sure if I am at the advanced level that this course may require. If you can, drop my email on the supplied address and we can chat offline.

Justin:

The one thing you can expect from the advanced clinic is to have a great time! Steve, Greg, and Cedric have put a lot of thought of how they’re going to teach what, and are all famiilar with Northstar’s varied terrain.

In terms of what Northstar’s terrain is like, we can tell you, in a word: varied. There’s the polished, bermed, table-topped Livewire to some of the more gnarly, rock infested DH runs you’ll find anywhere, with everyting in between. But your instructors will be looking for the right terrain to teach core skills, so you’ll be all over Northstar’s vast terrain. All good!

I’ll send you an email as well

Thanks.

What style of bike is more appropriate for the trail riding clinc? (DH, or XC?)

John:

Great question! If you are either a cross country rider (including racer), trail rider, or all mountain rider, Joe Lawwill’s Trail Riding clinic is probably the right choice for you. If you are interested in more difficult and demanding terrain, or are already involved in downhill riding and or racing, then either the beg-int or advanced-expert DH is the right clinic. Either way, you’ll have the best instructors, capable of teaching any and all mountain biking skills, leading your clinic.

Thanks!

Thanks,

I am registered for the DH clinc on Sat, and the trail clinic on Sun. Should I bring a XC bike for the trail clinic?

John:

Probably a good idea. Let us know if you can’t bring an XC bike. I know the shop at N* has rentals. But we might be able to work something out with our bikes.

Thanks.
