Bikeskills Instructors do their part to bring a new trail to life in SoCal

by robhoward on August 8, 2010

Bob Loeffler, the creator of Bikeskills’ New Rider Day program, works a McLeod Fire Tool and World Champion mountain biker Joe Lawwill has a set of hedge shears under control. Read more about how Joe and Bob braved the heat  to help SoCal riders gain access to some new single track in SoCal.

Some 40 passionate mountain bikers showed up to put their backs – not just mouths – to work!

There’s going to be a new trail opening in Aliso Woods!

The well-known , under-the-radar “Car Wreck” trail, is going legit,  has been approved as a LEGAL trail, and will official open Sunday August 15th!

People Showing Up, Working Hard, Making it Happen

This past Saturday 7 August 2010, the group SHARE,  organized a work party and over 40 volunteers including New Rider instructor Bob Loeffler and I showed up to get busy. With only one re-route and some needed attention to the trail, this once on-the-DL trail will remain as challenging as ever, but will now be fully legal to ride…

Come Celebrate and Give Props

There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony between 9am-10am August 15th. County officials and OC registers David Whiting will be on hand for the ceremony. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.

So come support the community that made opening up a new trail possible, give our country officials the props they deserve, and check out a trail that will keep you on your toes… or maybe get you to sign up for a Bikeskills clinic!
