Fall is an amazing time of year for action sports. Here in NorCal the wind sports season ends- often with the best conditions of the year, mountain biking is at its best, Fleet Week brings the Blue Angels, and the surfing season gets under way as north swells march down from Alaska, and those same northern storms signal soon the snow will fall in the Sierras, and it will be time to get out the skis and boards.
Mountain Biking is like any other sport: there are proven programs and methods to learn the basics. We will teach you the basics about your bike, various terrain and obstacles, and help you become a better rider, to minimize the risks and maximize the fun. Join Bob Loeffler and the Bikeskills crew and get started the right way: the Bikeskills way!
Every now and then someone captures the essence of mountain biking. Chris Akrigg does just that in this video. Check Chris’ spectacular skills in an equally spectacular setting.
While it took a while, one of our BIKESKILLS instruction videos just hit the 1,000,000 view mark! To be honest, we’re happy not just because one of our videos accomplished something that only 1 out of every 15,000 or so mountain biking videos submitted to YouTube accomplish, but also that viewers appreciate our approach – which is all about the mainstream mountain biker.
What a difference a few days make! With warm, sunny skies forecasted for the West this week, it’s looking like great conditions for mountain biking – and the perfect time to take a Bikeskills clinic! We have several options for you this coming weekend. Check out our schedule, or, read on to see more about what’s on tap this week at Bikeskills.
Sounds like some wet trails over the weekend. Generally speaking, you can ride most trails when they are wet (make sure to check that your trails are open before you head out there to ride…) A few tips will make your ride more enjoyable, safer and ensure that your bike emerges unscathed as well. Click here to read more, and check out a wet weather riding video.
While it was a lot whiter at the White House when Jason was there (he was there during the snow storm last week) not every one is invited there; fewer still are guests of the President and First Lady. Stay tuned and read about why the White House invited Jason, and what he told them about his Fitness Forward initiative.
We believe that Jason and Fitness Forward can and will improve our schools in the critical areas of diet and exercise. Stayed tuned for more about Jason, Fitness Forward, and the programs and projects our organizations will be cooperating on.
And who better to teach them than Olympic Gold Medalist, National and World Champion – not to mention Bikeskills board member and Santa Cruz Blur riding – Jonny Moseley? Read on to learn more about this in-progress video and the relationships between Skiskills, Surfskills, and Bikeskills.
